Mandela Washington Fellowship
The Mandela Washington Fellowship is the flagship program of President Obama's Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI). Through this program, young African leaders gain the skills and connections they need for their careers and to make contributions to the growth and betterment of Africa. The U.S. brings more than 500 young leaders to twenty U.S. universities each year for leadership training in three vital areas: public management and administration, business and entrepreneurship, and civic leadership. The Farley Center partners with Northwestern's Program of African Studies to host twenty-five of these leaders for a Business and Entrepreneurship Institute.
