Robbie Bach, who worked as the Chief Xbox Officer in 1999, gave a presentation on his experiences with launching Xbox. Bach gave the presentation on November 19 in the ITW classroom at the Ford Motor Company Engineering Design Center. During the presentation, Bach chronicled his experiences of starting up both the original Xbox as well as the Xbox 360 and gave advice to entrepreneurs in the audience. "If we were a startup, Xbox would have failed" said Bach.
"There is no reason Xbox was successful other than the team believed. That faith enabled us to do better things" Bach said.
One challenge of not being a "native entrepreneur," said Robbie, was getting it through his head that it was OK to be completely different.
