Join the Farley Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation and Medill School of Journalism, Media, Integrated Marketing Communications for a conversation with Medill alumna and former faculty member and The New York Times vice president of product Emily Withrow, who will discuss how product development is shaping the future of journalism.

David Berry is a General Partner at Flagship Pioneering, has co-founded more than 20 companies across life sciences and sustainability, and has served as CEO of over 10 companies. David will share his experiences at Flagship Pioneering where he has conceived and launched multiple healthcare and sustainability-focused startups. He will share his experiences in fundraising, building winning teams, and innovating within the framework of Flagship Pioneer's unique incubator model. This interactive lecture and discussion will be delivered in the Consulting for Wearable Tech class as part of Farley Center's experiential learning initiative, is open to all NU students (faculty and staff also welcome), and is in partnership with Querrey Simpson Institute for Bioelectronics.
Registration is required. The event will be hosted via Zoom. A link for joining the event will be shared with registrants via email on the morning of the event.

Erick Tseng is Head of Product at Facebook. In this role, Erick leads the Oculus platform's product development and commercialization efforts. He will share his product development experiences at Facebook, where he is responsible for both software and hardware product platforms. VentureCat is Northwestern’s annual student startup competition and celebrates the University’s most promising student founders. The program culminates in a pitch competition in which more than $300,000 in non-dilutive prize money is distributed to student ventures.
The VentureCat Public Showcase Livestream is open to the public and free to view. Audience members get to vote for their favorite finalist pitch to award an additional cash prize. Register to attend the livestream here.
VentureCat is a collaborative program at Northwestern, supported by The Farley Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, The Kellogg School of Management, the Donald Pritzker Entrepreneurship Law Center and The Garage. The program and non-dilutive prize money awarded to student ventures is made possible by generous sponsorship from the Levy Institute and Lanny and Sharon Martin.
