Biography

Mary Lou Song is an adjunct lecturer who co-teaches NUvention Web+Media. Song is an entrepreneur with 20 years of experience founding and growing technology companies in Silicon Valley. Her e-commerce career began when she joined eBay as a founding employee. She continued on to launch several media companies focused on blogging, aggregated news, and video products, including FuelX, an advertising company she founded in 2013. Song is an adjunct lecturer at Medill School of Journalism and was inducted into the Medill Hall of Achievement in 2019. A proud Wildcat from San Francisco, Song received a bachelor of science in journalism from Medill as well as a master of arts in media studies from Stanford University. She is also a former member of Northwestern's board of trustees.
