Winter Pitches 2014

Students in the Farley Center’s entrepreneurship courses had the opportunity to pitch their startup ideas to a range of leading entrepreneurs and venture capitalists at the end of the Winter 2014 quarter.

While some students were wrapping up their intensive course of business idea development and prototyping, others were just at the midpoint of developing their startup ideas.  Find out what new ideas stemmed from some of our flagship NUvention courses and entrepreneurship classes.

NUvention: Web

NUvention: Web students delivered their mid-course pitches to more than a dozen venture capitalists and entrepreneurs March 11 in Jacobs Hall on Northwestern University’s Evanston campus. Most teams showcased functioning prototypes, in addition to developing Web-based business ideas and researching customer segments.

NUvention: Medical

After two full quarters of research and development, NUvention: Medical students delivered their final pitches to medical professionals, venture capitalists and entrepreneurs March 12 at the Prentice Women’s Hospital in downtown Chicago.

Principles of Entrepreneurship

Students from IEMS 225 and ENTREP 225 prepared for the final business plan presentations as part of their final exam for the principles of entrepreneurship class during which students plan their own businesses in teams. The Winter 2014 class featured projects ranging from calendar planning services to dining apps. Final presentations were given in front of a panel of judges with startup and investment experience.
