David JohnsonAssociate Dean for Research Operations, Feinberg School of Medicine


David Johnson joined Northwestern in 1993 as Assistant Chair of Neurobiology and Physiology. He later became Associate Vice President for Research for the University, before moving to his present position as Associate Dean for Research Operations at the Feinberg School of Medicine. Prior to coming to Northwestern, Johnson led a lab doing research on multiple sclerosis at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, and was also on the faculty of Harvard Medical School where he taught and served as chair of the admissions committee to the PhD Program in Neuroscience. Before Boston, he was a Fogarty Visiting Fellow at the National Institutes of Health. Johnson holds PhD and Master’s degrees in Neurochemistry from the University of London, and a BSc in Biochemistry from the University of Wales. He is a founding member of the NUvention Medical Innovation faculty.
